Go behind the scenes to see the Zoo from a new point of view! During your specialized tour, you'll meet some amazing animals and have your questions answered by experienced Zoo educators.

Linne's Two-Toed Sloth

Did you know the sloth is the world's slowest mammal? Take a moment to slow down your own pace to meet these two-toed tree-dwellers! Don't miss out on an up-close and personal look at this amazing species and learn from the keepers who work with them every day!

  • Ages 6 and up
  • Up to four guests per group
  • $200 for 30-minute group tour
  • This tour can accommodate additional guests at an additional charge

Redpanda2 Box

Red Panda

You don't have to travel to a bamboo forest to meet red pandas! Visit these adorable animals in the new Children's Zoo and learn all about them from zookeepers and educators. If the animals are keen on a snack, you may even be able to feed them!

  • Ages 6 and up
  • Up to four guests per group
  • Seasonal: October - April
  • $175 for 30-minute group tour

Bongohog Box

Bongo and Red River Hog

Meet some bright, big-eared friends in the Kalahari Kingdom! You’ll have the opportunity to come face-to-face with these charismatic animals and even offer them some snacks!

  • Ages 6 and up
  • Up to 5 guests per group
  • Weather dependent: We'll do our best to reschedule in advance in the case of inclement weather.
  • Seasonal: May - September
  • $150 for 30-minute group tour

A Day on the Farm

Looking for a hands-on visit to the Zoo? Head over to Franklin Farm to learn more about horses, ponies, donkeys, sheep and goats as well as chickens and pigs. See how to groom a horse and meet the other animals up close. If the animals are keen on a snack, you may even be able to feed them!

  • Ages 3 and up
  • Up to five guests per group
  • $150 for 30-minute group tour

  • Please note age restrictions on each tour
  • Tours operate during Zoo hours (subject to availability, two weeks advance request required)
  • Photos are not permitted behind the scenes
  • Please note, every animal moves at its own special pace, so we can't pre-arrange an animal's activity level or nap schedule for your tour!

Black Bears

Do bears make you growl with joy? Come to the Zoo to learn more about black bears and hear the personal stories of Smoky and Bubba. Join one of their keepers to take part in a training session and discover for yourself just how clever these bears can be! Groups with young children can also help us create enrichment for the bears to explore and enjoy.

  • $150 for 30-minute group tour
  • No age restriction
  • Up to five guests per group

Please note: Bear tours are available Tuesday - Saturday. They do not take place in a behind-the-scenes location.
