Boston Area City Nature Challenge Kick-Off Walk

Friday, April 27, 2:00 - 5:00 p.m.

Join our kick-off walk for the Boston Area City Nature Challenge, a fun competition across the world — 65 cities, 17 countries, and 5 continents — to document the most species from April 27 - 30!

Location:
Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge
Concord Unit Entrance Road
Concord, MA

Join staff members from Zoo New England’s Grassroots Wildlife Conservation for a “bioblitz” as we celebrate the kick-off of the City Nature Challenge (CNC)! The CNC is a four-day international citizen scientist project with cities across the globe competing to document the most species using the iNaturalist app.

This is a family-friendly event open to citizen scientists of all ages. The group will meet at the Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge in Concord and document the birds, plants and wildlife that they see in the area. Whether big or small, furry or feathered – every species sighting logged into iNaturalist will help the Boston Area CNC team succeed, while showing off the incredible biodiversity around us.
