The generous support of every participant has helped provide the opportunity for Zoo employees, from both Franklin Park Zoo and Stone Zoo, to pursue conservation projects, education opportunities, research initiatives and other wildlife-focused efforts. Over the past 10 years, 73 Zoo New England Scholarship winners were able to participate and assist in projects as varied as reintroducing Drill baboons back into the wild in Nigeria, restoration of Atlantic puffin colonies off the coast of Maine and studying endangered turtle populations in New England.
Participation in these projects has not only provided staff with inspiring conservation experiences, but in return, staff have provided these important programs with much needed assistance. Read more about the fund.Make a Donation to the Fund
After 10 very successful years, this will be our final Jonathan Gilmour Memorial Scholarship Fund Ride and Walk. Help us ensure that the scholarship fund continues for many years to come!
Thanks to funding from the Jonathan Gilmour Memorial Scholarship Fund, Assistant Curator Chris Bartos was able to return to Namibia to work with the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF). Bartos trained Finn, the organizations's first ever scat detection dog, and she's now working on training plans for CCF's new dogs. Learn more
