Marbled teal ducks are light brown, white-spotted ducks that inhabit freshwater ponds in Mediterranean and western Asian countries. They have been classified as Vulnerable due to a 50 percent decrease in available habitat, much of which has been drained and converted into agricultural land.

Appearance:
Marbled teal ducks are light brown in color with white spots or flecks. They have dark brown bills and large, dark patches around their eyes. This species is not sexually dimorphic, meaning both males and females look very similar.

Length: 39-42 centimeters

Diet:
The diet of marbled teal ducks is largely made up of seeds and insects like the Diptera fly.

Mating and Reproduction:
Nesting season spans April to late June each year, and nests can often be found very close together near the water’s edge. Nests usually consist of around 11 eggs each.
