Membership Information

Gift Memberships
Give a full year of amazing animal interactions and fun-filled family experiences to your friends and family with the gift of membership! Purchase online or by phone at 617-989-2076, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Renewals
Renewal notices are mailed to you toward the end of your membership period. If you did not receive your renewal notice, let us know! Please include your first and last name, current mailing address, and member ID if applicable.

Upgrades
Get an even better value from your membership!
Do you have a large household?
Do you have a nanny or a full-time caregiver?
Are you bringing friends, extended family, neighbors, or guests with you to the Zoo?

If you've answered yes to any of the above, then the Friend level membership is for you! Upgrade your current membership to the Friend level and you will receive an additional named cardholder - giving you a total of three named cardholders - as well as an additional two accompanying guests for each visit.

Membership upgrades only cost the difference between the cost of the higher level and your current membership level. To upgrade your membership, please contact us at 617-989-2076, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. with your current member ID ready.

Employer Matching
Did you know you may be able to double or even triple your membership contribution at no cost to you? Many employers will match your current membership contribution. The matching gift does not change your membership level but the additional gift is a huge help to the Zoos.

Contact your Human Resources Department directly to find out if your employer has a matching gifts program. If they do, here are next steps:
1. Obtain the form from your HR department.
2. Fill out the form and send it to ZNE
3. Feel great knowing you helped your Zoos even more!

Legal Notice: All memberships are revocable licenses. Zoo New England reserves the right to refuse or revoke membership and/or deny admission without refund for noncompliance with applicable rules and terms or for inappropriate conduct.

I’ve lost/misplaced my membership cards! What should I do?

  • If you are planning to visit Franklin Park Zoo or Stone Zoo, but do not have your membership cards, you may still visit our Zoos free of charge! Be sure to present a photo ID that matches your membership information and notify our admissions associate that you have lost your cards. We will easily look up your membership in our database and allow free admission for all guests as allowable under your current membership level.
  • You may purchase a set of replacement cards right at our admissions booth during your next visit, or order by phone at 617-989-2076. There is a $5 processing fee for replacement cards. Organization and Library passes are $25 to replace.

What if I am visiting another zoo or aquarium?

    • Zoo New England, along with more than 140 other zoos and aquariums, participates in a voluntary membership reciprocal program every year. That means that you can visit these other wonderful institutions using your Zoo New England membership. Because reciprocity is voluntary, admission rates and discounts may be changed throughout the year; therefore, before you visit these institutions, we highly recommend that you contact them first to confirm admission rates or discounts before you visit.
    • Our most up-to-date  Reciprocity List can be found here.
    • Other zoos and aquariums in our reciprocal program operate independently from Zoo New England. If you wish to visit them and have forgotten your membership cards, they will not be able to confirm your current membership with Zoo New England and may charge you regular admission rates.

What if I signed up to become a Zoo New England member, but have not received my cards yet?

  • Memberships typically take 2 to 3 weeks to process. If you would like to visit Franklin Park Zoo or Stone Zoo, but have not received your membership cards yet, simply present your photo ID and temporary card, membership receipt, or printed online confirmation to the Admissions Associate to verify your membership. You may be asked to fill out a short information form including your name and phone number for our records. If you do not have a temporary card, membership receipt, or online confirmation for your membership, please contact us at 617-989-2076.
  • If you have been waiting four weeks or longer and have not received your new cards in the mail, please contact the Membership department at 617-989-2076.

What if my membership has expired?

You can renew your membership in 4 easy ways:

        • At our admission booth during your next visit.  Upon renewing, you will receive not only a receipt for your purchase, but also a temporary membership card.  Memberships take up to 2 to 3 weeks to process.
        • Right here on our Website.
        • By mail with check or credit card payment.  Toward the end of your membership, a renewal letter will be sent out.  Simply fill out the form and mail it back to us using our pre-paid return envelope.
        • Over the phone at 617-989-2076 with your credit card information ready.

What kind of discounts am I eligible for with my membership?

  • During regular visiting hours, members get 10% off food concession or gift shop purchases at Franklin Park Zoo and Stone Zoo.   Be sure to show your membership card prior to purchase. If you do not have your card, you can show your admissions receipt to verify that you were granted admission as a Zoo member.
  • Members receive a discount on Wild Adventures education programs held throughout the year.  For a schedule of our education programs, consult our quarterly newsletter, Wild Words & Adventures, or visit our Website under the Education section.
  • Members also receive a discount on certain ticketed events, including Stone Zoo’s holiday light show, ZooLights.

Can our nanny or child care provider use our membership card?

  • Zoo memberships are tailored specifically for the named adult cardholders on the membership cards.  Memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable.  The best way to grant full membership privileges to your nanny or child care provider would be to upgrade your membership to the Friend membership level.  This level allows for a 3rd cardholder, as well as 4 children (under 18), and 2 accompanying guests.
  • You may upgrade your membership at any point during your current membership by contacting our Membership department at 617-989-2076 or right at our admissions booth during your next visit to the Zoo.
  • Update 07/24/2012: The use of nanny notes is no longer permitted. Only named cardholders can take advantage of membership benefits. As a non-profit, attendance-based institution, we rely heavily on the support of our visitors. We highly recommend that you purchase the membership level appropriate to the number of individuals that you want to grant yearly access to the Zoos.

Why was I asked to show photo ID with my membership card?

  • Zoo New England is non-profit organization, and we depend on membership and attendance for support.  Therefore it is important to prevent misuse of our membership cards.  We also want to protect you, the member, if your card is lost or stolen.

Are complimentary admission passes transferable?

  • Yes. You do not have to accompany your guests to the Zoo and each guest pass is valid for either one adult or child admission. The following membership levels include guest passes: Curator, Director, and Founder.

Is my membership payment tax deductible?

  • Individual, Dual, Family, Family Plus and Friend level membership payments are fully tax deductible, unless purchased through a third party. Please contact the Membership Department for specific tax information on Curator, Director and Founder level payments, or for any other quetsions. We can be reached Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 617-989-2076 or by e-mailing znemembership@zoonewengland.com.

What if I didn’t receive my confirmation email?

  • Due to recent security updates with e-mail service providers, e-mails sent to your account from our Website may be blocked or sent to your “junk mail” or SPAM folders.  Be sure to check these folders if you do not receive an e-mail confirmation for your online purchases.  Otherwise, please do not hesitate to call us and we will forward you a copy of the confirmation e-mail.
