2012 Gilmour Winners

 

Please join us in congratulating the winners of the 2012 Gilmour Scholarship Awards. 

 

 

This Years Winners are:

 

Brandi Baitchman – will receive a scholarship to support a visit to Zoo Atlanta to observe and participate in ultrasound and blood pressure training with western lowland gorillas.

 

Christina Demetrio – will receive a scholarship to attend the African wild dog husbandry workshop at the 2012 American Association of Zookeepers (AAZK) conference in Syracuse, NY.

 

Erica Farrell – Zoo New England’s first multi-year winner, will receive a scholarship for her participation in AZA’s Professional Training Course, Managing for Success: Career Development.

 

Kim Kezer – will receive a scholarship to attend the AAZK 2012 Conference and co-present a 90 minute workshop titled “The Shaping Police: Breaking the Laws of Shaping?”.

 

Sarah Mascianica – will receive a scholarship to support 2012 coursework in a Masters Degree program at Slippery Rock University for Parks and Resource Management.

 

John Perakis - will receive a scholarship for his participation in the Mazunte Turtle Project in Oaxca, Mexico. The project consists of an effort to spay and neuter dogs to reduce the populations that greatly affect sea turtle hatching sites.

 

John Piazza – will receive a scholarship to participate in the AZA Professional Development course: Population Management I.

 

Hong Siv Tang – will receive a scholarship to attend the Avian Incubation Workshop in San Diego.

 

Sarah Woodruff – will receive a scholarship to attend the 2012 AAZK conference in Syracuse, NY.
