Please note: On Thursday, April 25, Stone Zoo volunteers, employees and local emergency responders will take part in a routine animal escape exercise. While the exercise is occurring, guests have the opportunity to participate in the evacuation portion, and may be asked to move to certain areas within the Zoo for a brief period of time (not to exceed 10 minutes). These exercises are an important part of our preparedness training, and we appreciate your participation and understanding. If you have any questions about what to expect, please don't hesitate to contact us at 617-989-2000 or info@zoonewengland.org.

One Boston Day Sock Drive

 Onebostonday Header

In honor of One Boston Day, Zoo New England’s Franklin Park Zoo is hosting a sock drive to benefit Bay Cove Human Services.

Zoo guests are encouraged to donate a new pair of socks, which will go to the homelessness service programs of Boston non-profit Bay Cove Human Services--including The Center for Change, a day program based in Dorchester for homeless seniors and older adults. A clean, dry pair of socks is hardly a luxury for most of us, but it’s something that can have a huge impact on the comfort, health and safety of homeless men and women in our community.

On April 15, donations of new socks can be dropped off in the designated boxes near the admission booths at both of Franklin Park Zoo’s entrances.
