Celebrate Stone Zoo's Sloth Baby

Stone Zoo

Sunday, September 22, 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Celebrate one of our newest furriest faces – a Linne’s two-toed sloth baby! Come learn all about the sloths and what makes these two-toed tree dwellers so unique. Activities will include sloth trivia and educational kid-friendly games. Stop by the education station to enter for a chance to meet the sloth family! The winner will be announced at 12:45 p.m. Participants must be at least eight years old, and group size is limited to four people.

All guests will also have the opportunity to help select the baby's name! The names have been narrowed down to Siesta, Kapok (a tree found in the Amazon), and Bengie.

As part of the celebration, cake and cupcakes will be provided by Sweet Spot Bakery for the first 350 guests, first-come, first-serve.

"Slow" much more!

  • Come dressed for the party in your own sloth mask (shown here). Visit our Kids' Corner to print your own!
  • Zoodopts support the care and feeding of our animals, and with each purchase, we'll bring a little of the Zoo to you! Zoodopt a sloth today!

Committed to Conservation

Zoo New England participates in the Linne’s Two-Toed Sloth Species Survival Plan (SSP), which is a cooperative, inter-zoo program coordinated nationally through the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA). SSPs help to ensure the survival of selected species in zoos and aquariums, most of which are threatened or endangered, and enhance conservation of these species in the wild. The baby was born on June 27, 2019 as a result of a recommended breeding between parents Nero and Lunesta.
