Head on down to the farm in celebration of World Farm Animal Day!


Included with general Zoo admission. No additional purchase or reservation is required for Zoo members. Event takes place rain or shine!

  • 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.: The Mobile Dairy Experience is rolling in with lots of fun on-board! Spin a prize wheel, play games, and learn about cows, dairy farm practices, and nutrition in a head-to-head battle for dairy trivia glory.
  • 9:15 a.m.: Dexter cow keeper chat
  • 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.: Education Station
  • 11:15 a.m.: Guinea hog keeper chat

Throughout the day, enjoy educational chats from members of our animal care team, and learn more about heritage breeds like the Dexter cow and Guinea hog. Heritage breeds are rare livestock breeds that are well-adapted to their environment and purpose and thrived before the mainstream popularity of industrial agriculture. All activities take place in Franklin Farm and Nature’s Neighborhood.
