Fun in the Tropics at Franklin Park Zoo

Franklin Park Zoo

Saturday, March 21, 5:00 - 7:30 p.m.

21+ Event

Are you longing for an island getaway? Do you care about our planet’s growing conservation needs? Well then, escape to the Tropics with the Zoo’s emerging leaders group, The Wild Things! Join us in your best luau gear as you wind your way through the Tropical Forest with friends! Learn about climate change and habitat loss with our education team. Watch the ring-tail lemurs as they discover tropical themed enrichment in their decorated exhibit, and don’t miss special opportunities to meet some of the Zoo’s animal ambassadors.

This 21+ event includes one drink ticket, appetizers and a cash beer and wine bar. Beer will be generously provided by our friends at Victory Brewing Company. Be sure to drop by their table to learn more about their primate-themed brews and the zoo’s Gorillas on the Line conservation program. A “build-your-bowl” food selection will be provided by local favorite, Oasis Vegan Veggie Parlor, who focus on sustainable food with tropical influences.

  • Early Bird Admission (through March 7): $30
  • Regular Admission: $40

Gorillas on the line...Answer the Call

From February 1 - April 30, we're participating in the 2020 "Gorillas on the Line...Answer the Call" global mobile phone recycling challenge. 36 zoos worldwide are joining together to make a collective conservation impact, with a goal of 20,000 recycled phones!

Visit the gorilla exhibit in Franklin Park Zoo's Tropical Forest, where you'll see a large Eco-Cell collection box in which you can drop off any used electronics listed on our website. You can also recycle electronics at Stone Zoo Admissions booths.

Electronic gadgets like cell phones and tablets contain coltan, a mineral extracted from the forests of Africa. Mining for coltan destroys the natural habitat of gorillas and many other endangered species. Gorillas are on the line...will you answer the call?
