Committed to Conservation

We support Three Monkeys Wildlife Conservancy in their efforts to reintroduce critically endangered Northern white-cheeked gibbons to a protected forest reserve, with the long-term vision of establishing a self-sustaining population within a secure habitat.

We're also a longtime participant in the White-Cheeked Gibbon Species Survival Plan, a cooperative, inter-zoo program coordinated nationally through the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. SSPs help to ensure the survival of selected species in zoos and aquariums, most of which are threatened or endangered, and enhance conservation of these species in the wild.

Habitat destruction and poaching are some of the threats that gibbons face in the wild. During this event, learn more about sustainable palm oil, and steps everyone can take to protect habitats for wildlife.

What's that sound? Gibbons make some amazing sounds, from hauntingly beautiful calls, to silly sounding hoots and howls. Be sure to listen for our gibbons gabbing at the party!
