Please note: On Wednesday April 24 at Franklin Park Zoo and Thursday, April 25 at Stone Zoo, volunteers, zoo employees and local emergency responders will take part in routine animal escape exercises. While the exercise is occurring, guests have the opportunity to participate in the evacuation portion, and may be asked to move to certain areas within the Zoo for a brief period of time (not to exceed 10 minutes). These exercises are an important part of our preparedness training, and we appreciate your participation and understanding. If you have any questions about what to expect, please don't hesitate to contact us at 617-989-2000 or info@zoonewengland.org.

Help name our bush dog puppies!

bush dog puppies

NBC10 Boston, necn and Stone Zoo are asking you to help us name two bush dog puppies — one male and one female — born last year.

From April 8 through April 11, we'll be accepting your name suggestions. You can submit them by email to shareit@nbcboston.com or shareit@necn.com, on Twitter using the hashtag #stonezoopuppies, or in the comments section of the post at the top of the NBC10 Boston or necn Facebook pages. Be sure to explain the reasoning behind your proposed names.

We’ll then select three possible names for each puppy from that list, and from April 15 to April 17 we'll ask you to vote on which names should be the winners.

The newly-named pups will make their exhibit debut this spring. They were born on Nov. 25, 2018, and have been bonding with their parents behind the scenes.
