Following in their Footsteps
Hiking through the snowy forest, a set of coyote tracks crossed the pristine trail ahead.
On the other side, the coyote had encountered deer tracks, breaking trail through the woods.
Amazingly, he lengthened his stride to match the deep footfalls of the deer.
The two trails merged into one.
Further on, the coyote veered off the deer trail.
Then, surprisingly, his tracks diverged . . . into two coyote trails, trotting side by side!
His mate had matched her tracks perfectly to her companion, and to the deer.
Three animals had shared one trail, making the journey easier for the coyotes.
Zoo New England’s Legacy Society is much like these stories in the snow.
Those who preceded us, paved the way to make our hopes and dreams possible.
We are transforming both Zoos, and pioneering exciting initiatives that we only dreamed of in the past, thanks to generous lifetime gifts and charitable bequests.
Like the woodland creatures, who take turns breaking trail and follow the trails of others, would you consider following in the footsteps of those who have gone before, and leading the way for future generations, by creating your own bequest, life income, or other planned gift?
We look forward to hearing what you would like to accomplish, and exploring possibilities for your individual circumstances. Please call or email our Development Office at (617) 379-5190 or development@zoonewengland.org.
Thank you for helping Zoo New England protect and sustain threatened species, introduce people of all ages to these amazing animals, and ensure a bright future for wildlife and our Zoos!
