Penguin: Franklin Park Zoo
🐧 The penguins are on their way! While their new habitat is under construction, you can still give the gift of penguins with a Penguin Experience gift certificate—redeemable starting July 2026.
Waddle into your next adventure with the newest residents of Boston—African penguins! Known as “jackass penguins” for their donkey-like calls, these curious, social birds are full of personality. Join us inside the new Penguin Coast habitat to learn about these amazing animals and Zoo New England’s work to help protect penguins in the wild.

- Experiences accommodate up to six guests per group and are not private, so you may share the experience with other visitors.
- All guests ages 4 and up must be included in the group size.

- Please arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled time.
- Join your group 5 minutes before the experience begins.
- Late arrivals may not be accommodated due to animal care schedules.

While we do our best to engage the penguins, participation is always up to the animals. You’ll still enjoy a memorable experience guided by our expert care team—bring your questions!

Red Panda: Stone Zoo
Prepare to be bamboozled by the undeniable cuteness of these ring-tailed rascals! For a limited time, our resident red panda from Franklin Park Zoo has settled into his temporary home at Stone Zoo. Also known as the "firefox," "bear-cat," or "first panda," this ancient species is full of unique characteristics! You'll have the opportunity to participate in a training session and feed our red panda a healthy snack!
- When: Daily through January, Tuesday - Sunday, 10:00 - 10:30 a.m.
- Where: Stone Zoo (Meet at Main Entrance)
- Who: Ages 4 and up
- Price per person: Members: $100 | Non-Members: $125

Reindeer: Stone Zoo

Join us for an up-close, hands-on experience with our reindeer! Discover fascinating details about the myths and legends of reindeer, and if they really pull Santa’s sleigh. You'll even have the opportunity to feed our reindeer a healthy snack!

Sloth: Stone Zoo
Sloth devotees, get ready to hang with these two-toed tree-dwellers! Don't miss out on an up-close and personal look at the world's slowest mammal and learn from the care team who work with them every day. You'll have the opportunity to participate in a training session and feed our sloth a healthy snack!
